XiaoMi Mi 3 Tegra 4 will be released on October, 15th. No date set yet for S800 version

It is official now, as we stated before, the Tegra 4 version will be available before the international S800 one.

This time, it is not rumors or insiders informations, it comes directly from XiaoMi co-founder, Liwan Jiang's Sina Weibo account confirming the Tegra 4 version will be available on October, 15th way ahead of the S800 Mi 3.

Small recap : differences between the 2 versions

The Tegra 4 version is exclusive to China Mobile which is the only provider in the world  which uses 3G TD-SCDMA network.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon S800 version is reserved for China Unicom which uses WCDMA 3G network which is compatible with worldwide 3G network (Australia, South American, North America, Europe, etc...).

Why the Snadragpn S800 Mi 3 is launching so late ?

In our previous article, our insider source was telling us that the China Mobile version was getting priorities because it is the world largest provider.

Second reason could be the shortage of the S800 SoC. XiaoMi is not equipping its Mi 3 with the common 8974 variant which can be found in major flagships : Sony Z1, Sony Xperia Ultra, LG G2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
XiaoMi ordered the ultimate version of the S800 SoC : the 8974AB which clocks the GPU speed up to 550 MHz from 450 MHz for the regular 8974 SoC.
Qualcomm has its hands full from releasing the standard S800 8974 version to majors international manufactures and hasn't begin yet to mass produce the superior 8974AB SoC.

As of today, there is no date set yet for the S800 based XiaoMi Mi 3. Even November sounds very optimistic, some others sources are aiming for late 2013 or early 2014.
