It is been quite a while since the last appearance of the Xiaomi HongMi in the news. Our last report talked about Chinese officials giving their approval to a HongMi WCDMA release.
Since then, it has been a month without any noise. This time, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, came forward on his Weibo account confirming that the company is indeed working towards an international WCDMA version of their successful budget phone.
