How long employees stay in tech companies ?

Sometimes, well, most of the times, things are not like they appear. While Google has been praised for being the best place to work several times, it fails to retain employees as long as its competitors except for Amazon.
At Amazon, manager are often asked to cut loose the least efficient performers of their team, it might be the same at Google. While top job (like Marissa Meyer's) wouldn't be as much concerned as low profile jobs, it sill is a upsetting news especially after viewing the movie "The Internship".
