Recap of the latest news about the Nexus 5 and Android KitKat 4.4

According to various rumors, the next version of Android should be unveiled in a few days, on October, 15th. The main source seems to come directly from developers present at the Google Laucnhpad event which is a two week bootcamp for young startups.

Last month, the LG Nexus 5 got approved by the FCC and a few days ago, the user manual was leaked. So most likely, we are talking about a very powerful device sporting a Snadragon S800, a 4.95 inch FHD display, 16 or 32 GB of storage (no MicroSD card though), a 2300 mAh battery, 8 MP rear Camera (non mem|cam), 1.2 front and LTE.
Google's flagship smartphone should be unveiled during the same event.
The price tag is still unknown but a little increase wouldn't be a surprise (around $50).

Since the leaked date got out, it has been a non-stop flow of rumors.

Hangout might offer to manage your SMS and MMS, Google is really pushing its messaging app to compete against Skype. Surely, the successes of Whatsapp or WeChat combined with iMessage from Apple are no strangers from the recent Google's move in the instant messages business.

The boot animation might change.

The very latest reports leaked informations regarding the lockscreen which seems to come with a shortcut for the Photo App at the bottom right of the screen and the GPS function.

It seems it will be 3 modes which would be easy to activate :
- Device Sensors : using only the GPS to locate your position
- Battery Saving : using the GPS and Wi-Fi antenna (this is new)
- High Accuracy : using GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks (already doable but you need to allow Google to use those in the Location settings).
