MediaTek 4G cheap is based on a Octa Core build

China is beginning to give carriers 4G licenses and it seems that MediaTek is eager to go faster than what they initially planned. The 4G LTE Octa Core MT6595 chip was expected to launch for the second half of 2014, now it is set to be available as soon as January.

It should be based on the same build already used in the current 8-core MT6592 and would come in 1.7 GHz and 2.2 GHz versions (a bit faster). As we explained earlier this year, the MT6595 will support both 4G technology FDD LTE and TD LTE. So, every country should be covered.

Sources say that manufacturers could be already testing the 4G MT6595 chip.
