Huawei Honor 3C might the first MT6588 Quad Core Smartphone

After losing grounds to the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei wants to get back into the game in China. So, they will move on from their home SoC K3Vx to MediaTek chips.

The Xiaomi Red Rice (HongMi) has changed the entry level smartphones in China and so far, rivals came up short. But Huawei is saying, behind unofficially that their next smartphone would take the throne when it comes to budget phones.Until December, 12th, here is what rumors are talking about.

The Huawei Honor 5C is said to pack the very first MT6588 Quad Core chip. The MT6588 is the undersized version of the MT6592 Octa Core using the same powerful GPU Mali-450 MP4 but at a lower clock speed : 600 MHz instead of 700 MHz.
So it is still very powerful especially when you know that old Meditek's chips were seriously lacking graphic power.

The rest of the specs are impressive too, the Honor 3C is said to be also the first budget phone to be equipped with 2 GB RAM alongside a 4.7 inch Display. Price wise, it should start from RMB 999 ($160/€118).
