Another BIRD enters the arena
Bird is a small Chinese Tech Company which has just unveiled 2 new devices :
- Bird Snapdragon XL powered by an 8 Core MediaTek MT6592 SoC
- Bird Snapdragon HD destined to compete against the Xiaomi HongMi
There is absolutely no link whatsoever between Bird and Qualcomm despite using the name "Snapdragon".
The price tag of the HD Snapdragon is out and cost the same price as the HongMi one at RMB 899. At this price, you got a 5 inch HD display smartphone sporting a Quad Core CPU MT6582 at 1.3 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and an 8 MP rear Camera.
The Snapdragon HD is compatible with the 3G WCDMA network and works with multiple frequencies.
The Snapdragon XL should run the 8 Core MT6592 chip at 1.7 GHz alongside 2 GB RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a 6 inch FHD display, 8 MP and 5 MP cameras and a MicroSD card slot.
Moreover, the design takes after Xiaomi Mi3's one and seems to be beautiful and is only 6.5 mm thin.

So far, no official date has been released but it should be soon available.
