Everything there is to know about the XiaoMi Mi 3

This has been the main topic on everyone's discussion for months building an incredible level of expectations. But XiaoMi company delivers fully with its new flagship, the Mi 3.

First of all, there will be not one but two XiaoMi Mi 3 :
- One version compatible with the international 3G network (WCDMA) sporting a Qualcomm SoC Snadragon S800 at 2.3 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. The version is originally destined to China Unicom
- The second version is equipped with the (in)famous nVidia Tegra 4 running at 1.8 GHz which will be compatible with the China Mobile 3G network (TD-SCDMA)

Other than that, everything will be the same. The Mi 3 offers 16 GB or 64 GB of storage, that is it. No 32 GB version.

The screen size was largely rumored through various news, now the secret is officially out. The Mi 3 comes with a 5 inch display with a FHD resolution 1920 x 1080 but the home, menu and back buttons will not be on screen.
The screen will be manufactured by LG and uses the OGS (one glass solution) design which allow for a better touch sensitivity, a wet hands usage and at some extent, gloves support.

Thickness wise, XiaoMi made an exceptional job. The phone is only 8.1 mm thick and comes with a outstanding 3050 mAh battery. The rest is on par with the actual high end market : 144 mm height (a bit too much) and 73.6 mm wide.

The new design is inspired by what Apple, Sony or HTC have done before, taking the unibody build, then therefore, the battery cannot be replaced nor removed.
Speakerphone is on the bottom of the phone alongside the MicroUSB entry.

The photos taken by the XiaoMi Mi 2S were already good but XiaoMi wants to go to the next level photo wise.
The lens is from Sony and it is a 13 MP sensor with an Aperture of F2.2 and a 28 mm wide angle lens.
The photos taken by the Mi 3 are crystal clear and very detailed.

Like the Mi 2S, the Mi 3 will be available in several different back colors. The default one will be the black one.
Others features like USB OTG, NFC or 5 GHz Wi-Fi will be there too. The only thing that is lacking is the 4G connectivity not available yet in China.

The FHD display delivers even more crisp images than before.

Of course, the new XiaoMi VP, Hugo Barra was there.

It should be available in our store in October around $399 for the 16 GB version and $480 for the 64 GB version.
