ZOPO ZP998 is official : World First True Octa-Core

The ZOPO ZP998 Octa Cores is finally here, the world first MediTeck 8 cores MT6592 powered smartphone and it seems to be already quite something.

The design takes after the ZP990 but with a 8 cores beast inside and much more.

New SoC : 8 cores MT6592

We often call the MT6592 the first true octa core because it is able to activate all its 8 cores at the same time.  More information regarding the MT6592 can be found in our detailed article.
It is not the most powerful version of the MT6592 which can be clocked up to 2 GHz.Instead, Zopo chose to use a 1.7 GHz MT6592. It comes with the Mali-450 GPU running at 700 MHz alongside 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage expandable with a MicroSD card.

5.5 inch FHD Display

It is a IPS FHD Display offering a high pixel density of 401 ppi. According to ZOPO, it is very sensible supporting wet hands usage (apparently not with gloves). While the type of protection is not specified, ZOPO used to put Gorilla Glass in their previous smartphones. We expect the same here.

14 MegaPixels Rear Camera with a F/2.0 Aperture Lens

Zopo is very confident towards its new 14 MP camera which is said to have high performances in low light condition like the Xiaomi Mi3.
The smartphone also uses a 5 MP front camera. Both can take photos with a dedicated button on the side and both can record in 1080p.

ZOPO OS

ZOPO also worked on its own launcher which supports gestures like drawing a "z" to access your default homescreen or "c" to open the phone app. It comes with some pre-loaded apps like MXplayer (free video player available on the Play Store).

Others Features

Wi-Fi Direct, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, OTG, Bluetooth 4.0. What else, right ? Well the price and the availability I guess.
