The former Google VP in the Android Department is working now for XiaoMi. He recently gave an interview to All Things D.
He stated that he started to be very interested towards the Chinese firm last year when the Mi 2 has been launched.
With his new position as Head of XiaoMi Global, Hugo Barra wants to take the firm the next step, meaning Global market as the name of his job states.
“If I do my job right, in a few years, the world will be talking about Xiaomi in the same way that they talk about Google and Apple today.”
