The International Xiaomi Mi3 Snapdragon S800 is finally coming. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi just announced the news and the much anticipated smartphone would come sometime in December (we expect 17th). A shortage is to be expected since only a handful of S800 Mi3 should be released, most likely 100 000 units. PhonAsia would have a few of them.
So far, only the Tegra 4 based version was available and is only compatible with China Mobile TD-SCDMA 3G Network. The S800 is the China Unicom version which uses WCDMA network. It should supports up to four 3G frequencies : 850/900/1900/2100MHz
The Qualcomm version brings the most powerful chip there is to date, the Snapdragon S800 8974AB which got the fastest S800 to date, the 8974AB version instead of the regular 8974. Main differences are a upgraded GPU running at 550 MHz and 933 MHz LPDDR3 speed RAM versus a 450 MHz GPU and 800 MHz speed RAM.
On top of that, the S800 Mi3 would also get the latest Wi-Fi 801.11ac connectivity which the Tegra 4 based version is lacking.
